The Norrisville Volunteer Fire Co. is pleased to announce that we have placed in service 29 new Scott Air-Pak 75 Self Contained Breathing Apparatus.
This state of the art self contained breathing apparatus provides our members with advanced technologies and accessories such as integrated carrying handles, a Drag Rescue Loop (DRL) for rescuing downed firefighters, an angled mechanical gauge with edge lighting, a simplified central power management system with a single battery module, and a streamlined back frame for improved hose management as well as full CBRN protection.
In addition, each member has been fit tested and issued an individual face piece. Three RIT ( rapid intervention team) packs for rescuing firefighters or victims were also included in the project.
The total cost for the new SCBA was $181,000.00. Generous donations from the community during our fund drive and a funding grant of $90,000.00 from the Harford County Government made this project possible.
Special thanks to Captain Testerman and Lieutenant Watkins for an outstanding job with training and placing the SCBA in service, as well as Chief Engineer Over, Sergeant Greer and FF Mundle for their work on the apparatus brackets.
Our continuing goal is to provide our members with the best safety equipment available to assure “We all go home”…..
