The Charlie Riley Community Service Scholarship Foundation held its annual awards ceremony last night to honor the high school students and emergency services personnel chosen for scholarships this year. The event was held at Level Volunteer Fire Company. Richard Brooks was Master of Ceremonies for the event that was attended by over 200 people. Attendees included; the award recipients, their families and friends, local politicians, Board of Education administrators and fire department personnel.
The foundation awards each of the selected recipients with a scholarship for their upcoming studies. In addition they select an overall scholarship winner for the high school students and for the fire service personnel. These two winners receive a larger scholarship award.
Norrisville Volunteer Fire Company would like to extend a special congratulation to our very own Kaitlyn Watkins. Kait is a paramedic with NVFC and serves on several committees. She is also enrolled in a nursing program and hopes to become a trauma nurse. Kait received the scholarship as the representative for NVFC. She was also selected as the overall scholarship winner for the fire service personnel.
Norrisville Volunteer Fire Company would like to congratulate all of the award recipients on their achievements and thank them for their dedication and service to the residents of Harford County. We wish them the best in their continuing studies.
